Delphi is an IDE Compiler for the Pascal programming language and software development environment. This product was developed by CodeGear Software Development Division as belonging to Embarcadero, the Division was formerly belonging to Borland. The Delphi language, or also known as object pascal (pascal with object-oriented programming extensions (PBO/OOP)) was originally intended only for Microsoft Windows, but this time have been able to use to develop applications for Linux and Microsoft .NET framework (see below). By using the Free Pascal is an opensource project, it can also be used to create programs that run on the Mac OS X operating system and Windows CE.
On February 8, 2006, Borland announced that it would unleash a whole range of products for its computer application development including Delphi. [1] the current Delphi became part of Embarcadero Technologies proprietary IDEA ranks after Embarcadero Technologies acquired CodeGear, a subsidiary of Borland development tool that handles the application.
